Fallout: New Vegas Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

How can I pass the robot compliance test?

  • 1 of 10: This one is a bit different in that you're not after a document in the administrator's wall safe. Instead, you're supposed to sneak up on and shut down the three patrolling robobrains. (Note that they'll be "resurrected" for this test if you destroyed them earlier.)
  • 2 of 10: The proximity detectors will still be there, as will the laser emitters (which you've hopefully hacked). That makes this rather tricky to do, so read on for step-by-step instructions.
  • 3 of 10: Enter the starting room and run through its big wall hole, then crouch down and run up to the first doorway in the east wall without moving into it. That'll get you out of the range of the nearest proximity detectors without letting the robobrain past the doorway see you.
  • 4 of 10: Quicksave, then sneak-run through the doorway and up to the robobrain. If it sees you, quickrestore and wait a few seconds before trying again. When you make it to the robobrain undetected, you can deactivate it.
  • 5 of 10: As soon as you do, back up until you go back through the doorway to get out of range of a proximity detector.
  • 6 of 10: To turn off that detector, enter the room through its other doorway, then run past the first cubicle and enter the second one. The detector is on the floor between two metal boxes and a desk.
  • 7 of 10: After turning it off, sneak toward the south doorway, but don't get close enough to it to trigger another proximity detector or be seen by the robobrain in the hallway.
  • 8 of 10: Quicksave, then sneak-run through the doorway and toward the robobrain. If it sees you, quickrestore and wait a bit before trying again.
  • 9 of 10: As soon as you deactivate it unseen, find the proximity detector that's next to the right (west) wall and turn it off. That way, you don't have to leave the hall to avoid being detected.
  • 10 of 10: Quicksave, then head south to find the third and final robobrain patrolling the southern hallway. Do the usual "quickrestore and try again if detected" routine until you get it deactivated, at which time the test will be completed.
