Fallout: New Vegas Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
Disable or destroy the giant robo-scorpion.
of 9: As soon as the lights come on, turn right and run into the sheltered room.
of 9: Run over to the working terminal and use it, then select the "Activate Target Drones" option.
of 9: That'll cause the giant robo-scorpion to be distracted by the target drones. However, they won't be able to destroy the huge beast, even if you give them supporting fire.
of 9: Or if you finished the "Sonic Emitter Upgrade" optional quest, you could first move on down the walkway past the target drone terminal until you come to a force field.
of 9: Zap the force field with a sonic emitter, then use the power regulation terminal to activate the backup generator. That'll deal the big scorp a good chunk of damage.
of 9: If you then go use the turret terminal mentioned in the above automated systems question, the giant freak may be killed without you having to fire off a single shot at it.
of 9: If not, you can go up the stairs near the NW corner of the area and turn left to find another force field to zap. Past it is a terminal that can be used to shut the giant robo-scorp down completely. The catch is that your Science skill will have to be 100 in order to hack the terminal.
of 9: If you have the Robotics Expert perk, you could try to sneak up behind the giant robo-scorpion and deactivate it. That's easiest to do when it's focusing on the target drones or turrets. It'll reactivate after 10 seconds, but you'll be able to get repeated sneak-attack criticals on it during those 10 seconds, which allows you to wear down its health very quickly.
of 9: After the giant robo-scorp is permanently shut down or destroyed, you'll get the next objective.
