Fallout: New Vegas Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Sink Auto-Doc

  • 1 of 8: The main auto-doc functions come up on a menu when you ask to engage the auto-doc's services.
  • 2 of 8: The Basic Physical Exam option is the one you'll be using most often, since it'll fully restore you.
  • 3 of 8: Since sleeping an hour on your bed will restore your health and limb conditions, plus give you the Well Rested XP bonus, you'll probably only use the auto-doc's physical exam option when you need to remove your rads or cure addictions.
  • 4 of 8: The next two options have to do with changing your face and hair. They won't work until you hunt up the related upgrade holotapes.
  • 5 of 8: The final option, to swap body parts, won't be available until you get your brain back on the final main quest. You'll then be able to switch your real spine and heart in and out, which gives you a choice as to which perk you get from each of those organs.
  • 6 of 8: Separate from the regular auto-doc services is a psychiatric evaluation that you can ask for (one time only) in order to re-choose your two traits. That's useful because this module adds several new traits, and you shouldn't have to start the whole game over just so you can get them. (See the New Traits list.)
  • 7 of 8: There's also a hidden option to install implants that won't appear until you get at least one of the four implant upgrade holotapes. You can then pay the auto-doc to install whichever implants you've retrieved upgrade tapes for.
  • 8 of 8: They're all very expensive, but at least your Endurance attribute doesn't limit how many of them you can get. That means you can get all four of them even if you've already gotten all the implants you can from Dr. Usanagi back in the Mojave Wasteland.
