Fallout: New Vegas Hints
Speak to Elder McNamara in the command room.
1 of 4: Follow McNamara down to the command room. (If he gets all twitchy and runs around uselessly, go back outside and wait an hour, and then reenter the level 1 bunker and follow your quest arrow to the command room in the level 2 bunker.)
2 of 4: Talk to McNamara in the command room and say you'll help him to get your next three objectives.
3 of 4: As you leave, Head Paladin Hardin will talk to you near the command room's exit. Listen to what he has to say about McNamara and the lockdown, then tell him you'll see what you can do to help him. This gets you several of the Helping Hardin Take Over Objectives, which you can either do now, do later, or ignore completely.
4 of 4: Also, look around the two accessible levels of the base for loot. See the "Technology Smorgasbord" undocumented quest for details.
