Fallout: New Vegas Hints

(Optional) Meet Neil in the village near the summit of Black Mountain.

  • 1 of 10: Neil will start running down the road, but don't try to follow him or you'll be overwhelmed by the super mutants and nightkin guarding the road.
  • 2 of 10: Follow the directions given in the "Head to the summit of Black Mountain and end Tabitha's reign of terror" objective for reaching the fenced-in nightkin compound without doing any combat.
  • 3 of 10: After you reach the back fence of the nightkin compound and are credited for discovering Black Mountain, go back SW to the satellite dish you passed by, then turn NW.
  • 4 of 10: Go over to the base of the large cliffside on your right, then stay next to it as you head north.
  • 5 of 10: When you reach the spot where you can see one of the nightkin compound's fences to your right, don't go up to it. Instead, continue straight north so the rocks on the right can hide you from the nightkin.
  • 6 of 10: When you can see a break in the rocks ahead, crouch down and quicksave. Sneak past the break without going through it, or some nightkin might spot you.
  • 7 of 10: When the rocks end, stop and wait if necessary for your stealth indicator to read "[HIDDEN]" again, then sneak your way over to the right (south) side of the big fallen satellite dish.
  • 8 of 10: When you reach it, sneak around to its east side and stay next to the small gap in it until your indicator reads "[HIDDEN]" again.
  • 9 of 10: The rendezvous spot is just south of the fallen dish. If Neil isn't there yet, stay next to the dish's gap and wait for him to arrive.
  • 10 of 10: After he does, sneak over to him, then stand up so you can talk to him and get him to lure away most of the compound's guards.
