Fallout: New Vegas Hints
Kill the Van Graffs and their men.
of 8: Go to Freeside in New Vegas, then look for the Silver Rush building in the second Freeside area.
of 8: Let the thug outside the Silver Rush confiscate your weapons on your way in, then wait and watch while the van Graffs have their "meeting" with another customer (if this is your first visit).
of 8: After it's over, you can get some weapons by doing the "Energy Weapon Smorgasbord" undocumented quest. However, even if you steal a whole lot of stuff, it'll still be very hard to kill off everyone in the building. You can't even pickpocket the thugs to take their ammo, and it's very hard to pickpocket Gloria and Jean-Baptiste Cutting without being seen unless you use a stealth boy.
of 8: One thing you could do is steal all the loose plasma mines and set some near the bathroom side area's entrance doorway, plus some further in. Get out a powerful weapon like the plasma caster and start blasting the nearest thug from the doorway.
of 8: Try to kill one before the others come after you, then quickly run into the back bathroom and wait there facing the door for survivors to come after you. It would help if you had a well-armored follower with you, and had taken helpful chems right before combat.
of 8: You'd have a lot more room to retreat and set a trail of mines if you could unlock the door in the west corner of the main area. In order to get a key, go back outside and pickpocket the thug that's next to the entrance.
of 8: It still may be totally hopeless. If so, and if you haven't done the "Birds of a Feather" NCR/Freeside faction quest yet, you could start on that quest and then let the suicide bomber in while you're on guard duty.
of 8: Or you can finish that quest's guard duty objectives to get the front door guard to stop confiscating your weapons, then sneak around and try to find spots where your stealth indicator reads "[HIDDEN]" (or use a Stealth Boy) so you can use powerful silent weapons (like a silenced sniper rifle loaded with armor-piercing rounds) to kill off the thugs one by one without everyone turning hostile. That would give you a big advantage over Gloria and Jean-Baptiste once they're all that's left, especially if you start the combat by dealing one of them a sneak-attack critical.
