Report back to Yes Man.

  • 1 of 3: Return to Yes Man in the Lucky 38's penthouse and ask him if there's anything else you should do before the battle.
  • 2 of 3: You can then say you'll talk to the Followers to get the "(Optional) Convince the Followers of the Apocalypse to support an ...." objective, or you can skip that and say you're ready to go to the dam.
  • 3 of 3: NOTE: If you're not really ready to go, you can say so when the game brings up a prompt window. Do that if you need to get your equipment in order. For instance, besides your most powerful armor and weapon(s), you'll want to take lots of mines, a scoped weapon for sniping, and at least one stealth boy. Also, you might want to do the "For Auld Lang Syne" follower quest to get help from the Remnants at the dam. When you're ready, talk to Yes Man again to go to the dam.
