Fallout: New Vegas Hints

(Optional) Kill Pacer in a way that implicates the Van Graff family.

  • 1 of 9: If you report your findings to Ambassador Crocker, he'll suggest killing Pacer with an energy weapon in hopes that the Van Graffs will be blamed. He also says there's an alternative that avoids bloodshed, but he doesn't tell you what it is.
  • 2 of 9: Since killing Pacer yourself will almost certainly turn all the Kings hostile to you, it's better to go looking for that unspoken alternative. Start your search in Freeside's first section.
  • 3 of 9: Go into the Mick & Ralph's store and talk to Ralph.
  • 4 of 9: Ask him to forge a handwritten note for you, and he'll make you one that says Jean-Baptiste Cutting (who's a Van Graff even if his name doesn't show it) has taken Pacer's jet.
  • 5 of 9: Once you have the note, go to the second section of Freeside and enter the King's School of Impersonation building, which is where Pacer lives.
  • 6 of 9: Go through the door in the entry area's south corner, then turn right and go down the hallway to find the stairs that go up to the second floor.
  • 7 of 9: Turn right from the top of those stairs and head SE down the hallways to find the stairs to the third floor. Pacer's room is the first one on the left as you enter the third floor.
  • 8 of 9: His jet stash is in an old cigarette carton that's sticking out from under the left side of the bed. Activate it and choose to take the jet and leave the forged letter.
  • 9 of 9: Wait in Pacer's room until he comes in and sees the note, then follow him as he runs over to the Silver Rush building and attacks the Van Graff thug who's standing outside. (Note that other King's Gang members may join in the fight, but you shouldn't. Just stay out of the way and loot the bodies.)
