Fallout: New Vegas Hints

Collect Dog Tags from ghoul NCR troopers within Camp Searchlight and ....

  • 1 of 7: Head east to enter the Camp Searchlight ruins, and use a rad-x when you start encountering radiation. It gets much worse than a mere 1 rad/s as you move into the ruins.
  • 2 of 7: There are a bunch of ghoul troopers in the ruins that will attack you on sight. They're similar to feral ghouls, but are wearing armor, which makes them much harder to kill. Using stealth and/or setting mines to lead them across is a good idea, as are armor-piercing rounds.
  • 3 of 7: An even better idea is to head south to the wrecked church building when you first approach the ruins. Inside the building is a terminal that you can hack (Science 50+) and use to activate the two turrets that are next to sandbag walls just east of the building. After they kill the nearest ghouls and radscorpions, go find some more and lead them back to the turrets.
  • 4 of 7: There are four more pairs of turrets scattered about the ruins, all of which have activation terminals on nearby tables. If you can't hack a turret pair's terminal, lead the ghouls and radscorps in their area back to some turrets you've already activated.
  • 5 of 7: Every time you (or a turret) kill a ghoul, search it to see if it has an irradiated NCR dogtag. You need to get a total of nine of those from hostile ghouls.
  • 6 of 7: The tenth irradiated dogtag is on a ghoul-ified soldier who hasn't quite turned feral yet. You'll find him in the one enterable Searchlight home SE of the western church.
  • 7 of 7: To get his irradiated dogtag, you can kill him, pickpocket him, or talk to him for a multitude of other options.
