Fallout: New Vegas Hints

Kill or Disable Mr. House.

  • 1 of 8: Work on the "The House Always Wins, I" quest until you get to the penthouse. (You can also finish that quest to get some bonus caps plus access to the Presidential Suite and cocktail lounge, but it's not strictly necessary to do so.)
  • 2 of 8: Look on the north wall of Mr. House's room for a terminal that you can access if you have the platinum chip or a Lucky 38 VIP keycard (or a Science skill of 75+ to hack it).
  • 3 of 8: Choose to open the antechamber, then choose "Yes." That'll turn all of the penthouse securitrons hostile, so quickly run through the newly opened secret wall into a room with an elevator on the left.
  • 4 of 8: Run over to the terminal next to the elevator and use it to unlock the elevator, then use the elevator to go to the control room, where you'll be safe from attack. (Or if your Science skill is 85+, you can use the terminal across the room from the elevator to stop the securitrons from attacking.)
  • 5 of 8: Go down the walkway to find the "real" Mr. House in a full-body life-support system. Look for a terminal you can use a short way back on the walkway.
  • 6 of 8: Use the terminal to unseal the LS chamber, then exit the terminal interface and watch as Mr. House is brought out into the open.
  • 7 of 8: You can optionally talk to him, but killing or disconnecting him is what you need to do. You could just shoot him, or you could use the terminal again. It'll let you either kill him by sterilizing the LS chamber or disable the cerebral interface to break his connection with the computer. (Note that you'll lose karma either way.)
  • 8 of 8: NOTE: You won't have an active objective after that's done, but what you need to do is return to Yes Man and tell him to join you at the Lucky 38.
