How can I get this quest?
1 of 9: First, finish the "One For My Baby" follower quest to get Boone to join you.
2 of 9: Next, travel around with Boone and get five "like" points with him.
3 of 9: At some point during that, you'll get a new conversation topic with Boone about what happened to his wife.
4 of 9: Talk to him about that, then finish getting the five "like" points if you haven't already. The next thing to do is get him talking about what happened at Bitter Springs.
5 of 9: Before you can do that, you'll have to learn about the Bitter Springs massacre from either Manny Vargas or Sergeant Bitter-Root.
6 of 9: Manny Vargas is in Novac (location 15 on the Zone 4 Map), usually in his motel room or up in the big fake dinosaur's mouth. Ask him who he is and who Boone is, then talk to him about his time with the NCR.
7 of 9: Sergeant Bitter-Root is in Camp McCarran (location 37 on the Zone 1 Map). Ask about his name, then pass a Speech 30 check and ask about his parents and the Great Khans.
8 of 9: After that, you can ask Boone if he was with First Recon at Bitter Springs. Use all of the following conversation topics, then end the conversation.
9 of 9: Stand and wait for Boone to talk to you about going to Bitter Springs, after which you'll finally get this quest.
