Fallout: New Vegas Hints
The Rescue from Vault 3
1 of 6: Go to Vault 3 (location 31 on the Zone 1 Map). If you're not working on the "Aba Daba Honeymoon" Great Khans faction quest, be ready to pass a Speech 64 check when you first enter.
2 of 6: Use the local area map to make your way to the south end of the vault's Recreation Area, then enter the Living Quarters.
3 of 6: Go down either set of nearby stairs and through a door to find a large room with a big cage in it. The cage contains four people (one deceased) who the fiends are holding prisoner.
4 of 6: If your Lockpick skill is 75+, you can pick open the cage's door and release the prisoners. This gets you 100 XP and some good karma, plus a terminal password.
5 of 6: If you can't pick the lock, talk to Rick Lancer to learn that the key is in the possession of a fiend named Daniel. Go get the key, then open the cage door with it to get your reward.
