Fallout: New Vegas Hints
Follow Doc Mitchell to the exit.
1 of 4: Use the Activate key to get off of the couch, then go over to the exit door.
2 of 4: Walk up to the doc to get him to give you your starting inventory items and a Pip-Boy 3000, which will be your way of tracking your condition, location, inventory, quests, and other important data. If you've played Fallout 3, it works just the same as in that game.
3 of 4: When the screen for Hardcore Mode comes up, read through its info carefully and decide whether you want to activate that mode. It's very highly recommended that you don't, especially if this is your first time playing the game, so I'd advise clicking on "No."
4 of 4: After you make that choice, this quest will be finished, and you'll get the next two. Before you start on them, thoroughly loot the doc's entire house and then sell him whatever stuff you get that you don't want. (Note that if your Medicine skill is high enough, you can talk him into giving you three extra stimpaks.)
