Small Guns

  • 1 of 2: Unless you're going to try to avoid fighting all together, you will probably need to build this skill up a fair extent.  It allows you to use any kind of pistol, rifle, or shotgun, except those that use energy cells (laser and plasma guns, for instance.)

    You will need some kind of ranged attack, and while you could go with Throwing, I personally didn't find the skill all that useful.  So that makes Small Guns the obvious choice, at least to start building early in the game.
  • 2 of 2: You can also build this skill up some by reading "Guns and Bullets" magazines, but note that the effectiveness of the magazines decreases as you approach 90-100% skill levels, until they do nothing at all.
