Fallout 2 Hints
Unarmed
This skill allows you to attack a nearby opponent without any weapons in your possession, or with a weapon worn on your hands, like brass knuckles. If you have a high strength (so you have a high base unarmed damage), and are willing to pump lots of skill points into this skill, you might find this a better choice than Melee Weapons for close-up attacks. That is, if you push the skill up to 100% or even 125%, you'll start to get some good attacks that do a decent amount of damage and have high critical chances.
Odds are, though, that by the time you collect the skill points to allocate to this skill, you'll probably want to move on to the various guns skills. There are a couple of fights and quests where you must fight unarmed (including one near the start of the game), but the later quests aren't strictly essential to the completion of the game, and it's probably not worth diverting the skill points from other skills.
