Fallout 2 Hints
Break up the bar brawl.
of 8: This is the second job that you will get after being hired by the sheriff. It follows your collecting on an overdue rent.
of 8: You will be sent to break up a brawl at the nearby bar.
of 8: Talk to the main agitators here, and see what they have to say. There's one from Kokowest Mines and one from Morningstar.
of 8: It seems like neither is going to be happy until the other one is gone.
of 8: Basically, this is just a test of your speaking ability.
of 8: And your willingness to take sides in this town.
of 8: Threaten that you're going to load your weapons and wait for a target, and eventually, either NPC will get the point and agree to go to jail peacefully. If they don't, just keep trying, as there appears to be some kind of skill check here. (That is, it's possible they won't surrender one time and then will the next.)
of 8: Although it appears that you have a choice in the matter, when I played through the game, the Morningstar owner was always mad at me for locking up his miner, no matter what I actually did. But I also had previously sided with Kokowest in the excavator chip quest, so it's possible that the game's designers couldn't imagine that I'd go against Marge after supporting her earlier, and thus didn't have the dialogue in place to get both owners mad at me.
