Fallout 2 Hints
Sneak
Sneak lets you avoid detection by other characters and animals.
If you're going to go through the game with guns blazing -- that is, you plan on fighting a lot -- this skill is generally pretty useless. There are no places that I know of in the game where you must sneak to solve a puzzle. You might be able to sneak past a few enemies to avoid combat, but for the places where you really want to avoid a tough firefight, there are other ways to do so that don't involve the Sneak skill. (These are covered in individual hints.)
Probably one of the better uses of this skill is if you combine it with other similar skills like Lockpick and Steal to play a general thief character. In these cases, you might be able to sneak to avoid detection while poking around in places where you don't belong. That is, you might have a better chance of breaking into people's homes and such without their noticing, if you use Sneak. But unless you want to go this route, you probably will find little use for Sneak.
