Fallout 3 Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Can I restore Colonel Autumn's laser pistol using the G.E.C.K. program?

  • 1 of 11: Yes, you can. Run the G.E.C.K. program and load the BrokenSteel.esm file into it.
  • 2 of 11: In the Object Window, click on the + sign next to "Items," then click on "Weapons."
  • 3 of 11: Click on the "Name" tab that's along the top of the main part of the window to sort the weapons alphabetically by name, then scroll down the list a little to find "Col. Autumn's Laser Pistol."
  • 4 of 11: Right-click on it and choose "Edit" to bring up its data window.
  • 5 of 11: Find the "Flags" box in the top half of the window and check the boxes next to "Automatic" and "Quest Item."
  • 6 of 11: In the bottom part's "Game Data" area, there are several fields you need to change.

    * "Weight" from 3.0000 to 2.0000
    * "Fire Rate" from 1.0000 to 6.0000
    * "Spread" from 0.0000 to 1.0000
    * "Crit Dmg" from 18 to 22
    * "Damage" from 18 to 10
    * "Base VATS To-Hit Chance" from 18 to 6
    * "Crit % Mult" from 1.5000 to 1.0000
    * "Semi-Automatic Fire Delay Max" from 2.0000 to 0.5000
  • 7 of 11: After that's done, click on the "Art and Sound" tab and change the "Attack Anim" field from "Attack 3" to "AttackLoop."
  • 8 of 11: NOTE: Some of those changes actually decrease desirable things, like damage and critical chance, but that's how the original, unaltered pistol was defined.
  • 9 of 11: When that's all done, press the ENTER key to close the data window, then go to the File menu and choose "Save."
  • 10 of 11: Type in the name for your new ESP file and click on "Save" to get it saved on the hard drive.
  • 11 of 11: The next time you run the game, use the "Data Files" option on the launcher menu to enable your new ESP file. That way, Colonel Autumn's laser pistol will be restored to its former glory.
