Fallout 3 Hints

Alternative Buyers Tip

  • 1 of 11: There are two other people in the wasteland who would like to have a genuine Stradivarius violin, and they're actually willing to pay caps for it (Agatha won't).
  • 2 of 11: One potential buyer is Abraham Washington in Rivet City (location 64 on the Zone 9 Map).
  • 3 of 11: Go to the Midship Deck area and find Mr. Washington in his big Capitol Preservation Society museum.
  • 4 of 11: Talk to him and get his "Stealing Independence" misc. quest if you haven't already, then offer to sell him the violin.
  • 5 of 11: He'll offer you 200 caps for it, and you can get that up to 300 caps if you pass a fairly easy Speech Challenge.
  • 6 of 11: The other buyer is in the ghoul Underworld area inside the Museum of History, which is inside the D.C. metro ruins. See the D.C. Ruins Interior Regions hints if you need to figure out a way to get there.
  • 7 of 11: Enter the museum through its front doors, then move around the curvy desk to get to the large prehistoric exhibit room. The big doors with the huge carved skull over them lead to the Underworld Concourse.
  • 8 of 11: After you talk to Winthrop, go upstairs to find the Ninth Circle bar. Talk to the owner, Ahzrukhal, about buying the violin.
  • 9 of 11: He'll make you the same offer as Abraham Washington did after you tell him the violin is one-of-a-kind.
  • 10 of 11: If you later decide you want to get the violin back, you can buy it back from Abraham Washington for 300 caps or pickpocket it from Ahzrukhal.
  • 11 of 11: TIP: Sell it to Ahzrukhal and then pickpocket it back (if you can), then go sell it to Washington or give it to Agatha.
