How can I get this quest?

  • 1 of 7: One way to get it is to go to the Lincoln Memorial (location 41 on the Zone 9 Map). It's in a D.C. ruins interior region called the Mall, so see the D.C. Ruins Interior Regions hints for info on how to get there.
  • 2 of 7: Once there, talk to Silas, then follow him into the Memorial Maintenance Room.
  • 3 of 7: Go over to Leroy Walker and talk to him to get this quest and the "Find at least one Lincoln artifact in Museum of History" objective (or maybe the "Make sure the Lincoln Memorial is free of Super Mutants" objective).
  • 4 of 7: The other way is to go to the Temple of the Union (location 9 on the Zone 3 Map).
  • 5 of 7: If Simone Cameron doesn't talk to you when you approach the locked gate on the temple's west side, ring the door bell that's to the left of the gate.
  • 6 of 7: After Simone lets you in, follow her upstairs, then talk to Hannibal Hamlin.
  • 7 of 7: Swear to protect the temple (even if you don't intend to), then talk to him until you can accept this quest and get the "Talk to Caleb Smith" objective.
