Fallout 3 Hints

Find Galaxy News Radio.

  • 1 of 10: Before you head off to the old D.C. ruins, you should check the Early Development Strategy for some very highly recommended suggestions on things to do locally to build up your character.
  • 2 of 10: When you're ready, leave Megaton and travel to the Super-Duper Mart (location 1 on the Zone 9 Map), watching out for wild critters along the way.
  • 3 of 10: When you reach the back of the mart, search the two trash bins for random items, then turn left and go around the side of the building until you get credit for finding it.
  • 4 of 10: Go north to find a nearby bridge. After crossing it, turn right and make your way along near the water until you discover the Farragut West Metro Station.
  • 5 of 10: You could move on past it and continue following the world map's "dotted quest line" until you reach Friendship Heights, but that way involves fighting several super mutants and raiders, so it's not recommended.
  • 6 of 10: If you want to go to Friendship Heights anyway, see the Tenleytown/Friendship Station guided tour for all the details on getting from there to the Chevy Chase North area.
  • 7 of 10: If you instead go to the Farragut West Metro Station, see the Farragut West Station guided tour for info on getting to the door to the above-mentioned Tenleytown/Friendship Station area. Start reading its tour info, skipping down to the part where it mentions the door to the Farragut West Station.
  • 8 of 10: There's also a tour for the Chevy Chase region which includes all the hints you need to get into the GNR building. However, the tour doesn't directly reference this quest or its objectives, so minimal hints for getting things done will be provided here.
  • 9 of 10: After you make it to Chevy Chase North, go up the stairs and head south until you come under fire from two super mutants. Either shoot them down, or take cover and wait for some nearby Brotherhood of Steel members to kill them for you.
  • 10 of 10: Loot the dead mutants, then cross the rubble to where you can talk to Sentinel Lyons, who will be leading you to the GNR building.
