Fallout 3 Hints

The Secret Museum Stash

  • 1 of 20: The secret stash is in the Museum of Technology (location 46 on the Zone 9 Map). See the D.C. Ruins Interior Regions hints if you need help getting to the museum.
  • 2 of 20: NOTE: You'd better come ready to fight lots of super mutants, since the museum is full of them.
  • 3 of 20: In the Atrium area's large entry room, use the Museum Information terminal on the south wall.
  • 4 of 20: Notice the entry at the bottom that's labeled "#000."
  • 5 of 20: Click on it to get a message from someone named Prime to someone else named Jiggs.
  • 6 of 20: Exit the terminal and use it again to see that the "#000" entry has changed to "#001."
  • 7 of 20: Click on that to bring up a list of four numbers.
  • 8 of 20: After you click on the right number, the "#001" entry will change to "#001 Confirmed."
  • 9 of 20: If you click on that, you'll learn that you need a total of three confirmations.
  • 10 of 20: After you correctly solve the third prime puzzle, the "#003" prompt will turn into a "#Get Password" prompt.
  • 11 of 20: Click on it to get another message from Prime to Jiggs that mentions the safe in the security office.
  • 12 of 20: Go through the west doors and down the corridor to reach the Virgo II Lunar Lander exhibit room, then go through the door in its north wall.
  • 13 of 20: Just past that is a door on the left. Go through it, up some stairs, and through another door to reach the security office.
  • 14 of 20: Use the terminal near the wall safe and choose the "#Unlock Safe" option, then raid the safe to get 200 caps, a gun locker key, and some other items.
  • 15 of 20: Go back down the stairs to the short hallway, then turn left to get to the planetarium room.
  • 16 of 20: Go through the door on the opposite (east) side of the room, then open the gun locker in there and raid it for guns and ammo.
  • 17 of 20: That's all of the secret stash, but there's still more stuff to get.
  • 18 of 20: Prime said in his last message that he'd try to meet Jiggs at the old diner at the Jury Street Metro Station (location 13 on the Zone 5 Map), so go there and see if he made it.
  • 19 of 20: The diner is just south of the entrance to the underground Jury St. Station area. Look on the floor behind its counter to find Prime's body. (Note that it wouldn't have been there if you'd visited the diner before solving the number puzzles.)
  • 20 of 20: Loot the body to find 500 caps, the unique Xuanlong Assault Rifle weapon, and lots of other goodies.
