How can I get to Rivet City this way?

  • 1 of 11: Leave the GNR building and fast-travel to the Museum of Technology.
  • 2 of 11: When you arrive, immediately turn and run for the stairs that lead down to the underground Museum Station area. (The one you entered the Mall region through if you did the previous quest.)
  • 3 of 11: After entering the station, go along the hallway until you get back to the big mezzanine area with the escalators. As soon as you enter it, turn left and go down one of the two nearby escalators.
  • 4 of 11: Past them, enter the tunnel with the big "SOUTHBOUND ANACOSTIA CROSSING" sign above it.
  • 5 of 11: Make your way down the tunnel, watching for a raider or two to shoot, until you come to a doorway on the left.
  • 6 of 11: Just past it is a door that leads to the Anacostia Crossing Station. (Note that it's covered in the Underground Metro Area Guided Tours, but the tour goes the opposite way you're going.)
  • 7 of 11: Go down the stairs to the track tunnel and turn right, watching for two raiders to appear from a right-side area that's just ahead.
  • 8 of 11: Sleep on the mattress in the side area if you want, then continue on down the tunnel to reach a large rubble-y room with escalators leading up to an upper floor.
  • 9 of 11: Watch for several raiders on both the lower and upper floors. After they're all dead, go down the upper floor's west hallway.
  • 10 of 11: At its other end is a door that leads outside to the Anacostia Crossing area.
  • 11 of 11: Out there, all you have to do is go up the stairs and straight south for a short distance to discover Rivet City.
