Fallout 3 Hints

Charon

  • 1 of 10: You'll find Charon in the ghoul Underworld area in the Museum of History (location 44 on the Zone 9 Map). That's inside the D.C. metro ruins, so see the D.C. Ruins Interior Regions hints for a way to get there.
  • 2 of 10: Enter the museum through its front doors, then move around the curvy desk to get to the large prehistoric exhibit room. The big doors with the huge carved skull over them lead to the Underworld Concourse.
  • 3 of 10: After you talk to Winthrop, go upstairs and enter the Ninth Circle bar. That's where you'll find Charon and Ahzrukhal, his current employer.
  • 4 of 10: Ask Ahzrukhal about the guy standing in the corner, then talk about Charon until you have the option to ask about his contract.
  • 5 of 10: You can then buy Charon's contract for 2000 caps (or 1000 if your Barter skill is 50 or higher), or you can make a deal with Ahzrukhal to get the contract for free.
  • 6 of 10: Once you have the contract, talk to Charon and tell him the good news.
  • 7 of 10: Wait as he kills Ahzrukhal for being an evil jerk, then loot Ahzrukhal's body for items.
  • 8 of 10: After Charon talks to you again, he'll be a follower.
  • 9 of 10: He has 240 hit points, a shotgun and a combat knife, and is best with small guns. When you fire him, he returns to the Ninth Circle bar.
  • 10 of 10: NOTES: He starts out with 20 shotgun shells, but you can take them at any time -- he can still use his shotgun since it's unlimited-ammo. If he sees you steal anything in the Underworld area, he may start attacking you.
