Fallout 3 Hints
North-Side Area
1 of 15: The only way to get to this area is through the Factory building.
2 of 15: Enter the Factory, then exit it through the upstairs east door in the main SW room to reach a small area with a dead merc, a sniper rifle, a jet chem, and two ammo boxes.
3 of 15: Reenter the Factory, then exit it through its northern upstairs door. Go down the nearby stairs to a narrow walkway.
4 of 15: Watch for a tripwire partway down the walkway that triggers a hidden "grenade bouquet" trap. Either disarm it or trigger it and run to safety.
5 of 15: Past the other end of the walkway is a tent with two super mutants next to it. After shooting them down, look inside the tent for a dead merc, two beds you can sleep on, a cabinet, four metal boxes, two first aid boxes, an ammo box, and a grenade box.
6 of 15: Go back along the walkway until you come to the spot where part of a broken-off radio mast is sticking up out of the canal.
7 of 15: Jump over the railing onto the mast's skinny crossbeam, then run across it and jump to the narrow cement ledge on the canal's other side.
8 of 15: Turn right and make your way along until you can enter an alley on your left.
9 of 15: Go along it until you reach a big irradiated pool area, then shoot down the three ghouls that charge you from the pool.
10 of 15: Make your way along near the edge of the pool until you reach a small camp.
11 of 15: Check near the pool for two dead people wearing radiation suits, then search the camp to find another radiation suit, three boxes of 10mm ammo, four rad-x items, five radaway items, two bits of surgical tubing, a mattress, and a terminal that you can use to read about why the people were there.
12 of 15: A "glowing one" ghoul named Samuel will appear near the alley's entrance after you read the terminal's journal entry that mentions him.
13 of 15: Between the alley entrance and the ghoul research camp is a pile of rubble that looks too steep to climb, but you can get over it and to a spot in the back with a skeleton.
14 of 15: Near the skeleton is a large open-topped container with a Chinese assault rifle on it, and beer, pork n' beans, and radaway inside it. There are also two ammo boxes nearby.
15 of 15: TIP: When you're ready to leave, fast-travel to the Takoma Industrial region (or anywhere else).
