Fallout 3 Hints

Enclave-Fighting Tips

  • 1 of 11: Hang back and fire at the soldiers who are on the big room's ground floor first. It would help if you had a tough follower like Charon or Jericho with you, but make sure he doesn't get killed.
  • 2 of 11: As for the soldiers on the upper walkway, a few well-tossed frag grenades should finish them off.
  • 3 of 11: Loot the dead bodies that are on the floor, then look around for a way to get up onto the upper walkway. Doing so will allow you to loot the other dead soldiers, plus ambush two more soldiers on a raised platform in the next tunnel area.
  • 4 of 11: If you examine the room carefully, you should notice that there are three tall metal cylinders in a row next to one end of the upper walkway.
  • 5 of 11: Attached to each cylinder is a large curving pipe, and going around the three-cylinder set is a low railing.
  • 6 of 11: Unequip everything, then jump onto the railing, and from it onto one of the curving pipes. Crouch down and move around slowly on the pipe until you get to where you can crouch-walk up to its top.
  • 7 of 11: Uncrouch and jump onto the top of the nearest tall cylinder, then go over to the one that's nearest the upper walkway (if you're not already on it).
  • 8 of 11: Jump onto the walkway from there, then look around for dead soldiers to loot. (If you can do it quickly or sneakily, you might be able to get up there and charge the upper-walkway soldiers during the battle.)
  • 9 of 11: Go along the walkway to its other end to find a door that leads to the Taft Tunnel area.
  • 10 of 11: Go through it, ready to ambush the two Enclave soldiers who are on the balcony just ahead. It's much easier to kill and loot them from there than from down below.
  • 11 of 11: Once you're done, *don't* jump over the balcony railing and move on from there, since doing so will probably leave Doctor Li and her associates behind. Instead, go back through the door to the Taft Tunnels area, drop down to the room's main floor, then continue from there.
