How can I get in to see Montreaux?

  • 1 of 11: Montreaux isn't going to see someone as unimportant as Gabriel Knight, private investigator.
  • 2 of 11: But he may want to talk to someone else.
  • 3 of 11: All you have to do is convince him that you're someone more worth his time.
  • 4 of 11: You may want to wait until you've already looked around Le Fauteuil du Diable and talked to several others about the murder.
  • 5 of 11: In particular, you will need to talk to Larry Chester and then find out what time he set his alarm for.
  • 6 of 11: Once you've done both of those things, you should hear a ticking clock.  If not, go back to Le Fauteuil du Diable to make sure that you've done everything you need to.  (Madeline arrives at the scene once you've done everything at Le Fauteuil.)
  • 7 of 11: You can now go into Gabriel's hotel room and do something you weren't able to do before.
  • 8 of 11: Gabriel can log onto SIDNEY to print a fake ID.
  • 9 of 11: Remember, you need to convince Montreaux that you're someone he *wants* to talk to.
  • 10 of 11: Like a reporter.
  • 11 of 11: Print out either the New York Times ID or the freelance reporter ID, and then go back to Chateau de Serres.  You will be able to use the ID when you knock on the main door.
