Half-Life 2: Episode One Hints
Warning and Supply Tip
1 of 6: After you turn a corner, you'll see a path branch ahead of you, one of which leads to a dead body with some stuff near it.
2 of 6: The other way is the one you need to go, but first turn your flashlight on and carefully move toward the dead body.
3 of 6: I say carefully because there's a large vertical shaft between you and it.
4 of 6: Of course, that's no problem -- just pull in the health vial and emergency flare with the gravity gun.
5 of 6: As for the flare's usefulness, you can drop it down the vertical shaft to see that it's definitely a fatal fall, or you can hold it in front of you to help you see instead of using your flashlight. (But note that it will burn out fairly quickly.)
6 of 6: NOTE: If you find flares in areas with zombies and headcrabs, you can throw a lit flare at a zombie or headcrab to set it on fire.
