Half-Life 2: Episode One Hints
Section 1: Dark Tunnels and Zombies (ep1_c17_00)
1 of 18: After Alyx catches her breath, she'll lower a nearby force field so you can go through.
2 of 18: Head along on the right side of the train wreck until you can turn right and go into a tunnel full of debris, headcrabs, zombies, and hopper mines.
4 of 18: Turning the power on also opened a side door in the same room, so go through it after using the gravity gun to blast the yellow car out of the way.
5 of 18: In the dark tunnel beyond, look out for two zombies who will rise from the darkness and attack you.
6 of 18: Further down the tunnel, there'll be a third zombie to dispose of, plus another behind some wrecked vehicles. (Also look around that area for a health vial.)
7 of 18: Head right at the white van and go past a bunch of dead antlions, then go left around the back end of a large tanker truck.
8 of 18: Just ahead will be a small zombie-vs.-antlion fight.
9 of 18: Exploring past that with your flashlight, you'll find an exit (and some supplies) in the back right corner of the area.
10 of 18: A little past that, you'll come to your first encounter with a new zombie type -- Combine soldiers taken over by headcrabs. Alyx calls them "zombines," so I will too.
11 of 18: After all the zombines are dealt with, you'll need to figure out how to get through that power-lock door that's in the left wall of the tunnel.
12 of 18: TIP: Before you go through the newly opened power-lock door, head back to previous areas if you're low on health or armor (if you left some behind, that is).
13 of 18: Go up the two flights of stairs past the power-lock door, ready to fight some poison headcrabs in the area just past the top of the stairs.
14 of 18: When you're done with that, head through the opening in the fence, but quicksave your game before going any further. The room beyond has a pit in the middle that antlions will spawn from.
15 of 18: Watch for two regular headcrabs who drop from the ceiling as you move into the next area (let Alyx blast 'em), then break open the two supply crates that are a bit past that.
16 of 18: In the back, don't run hastily through the fence doorway, since there are a huge number of barnacles and zombies in the corridor just past it.
