What's the best way to get rid of these pests?
1 of 8: While standing outside the fenced-in area, you can shine your flashlight up at the barnacles so Alyx can target them.
2 of 8: However, don't do that yet. Several zombies will soon appear at the other end of the corridor, and the barnacles can help by grabbing some of them if they get too close.
3 of 8: So keep your flashlight aimed low (or turned off) until the zombies start appearing. Alyx will target them without your flashlight's help.
4 of 8: NOTE: If the zombies don't start appearing right away, crouch-walk very slowly through the fence doorway until the first one shows up. Hopefully, you won't be nabbed by a barnacle. (But have your shotgun ready in case you are.)
5 of 8: Just stand aside and watch as Alyx shoots down all the zombies, only helping with a thrown barrel or shotgun blast if one gets all the way up to your end and somehow avoids all the barnacles.
6 of 8: After all the zombies are dead, shine your flashlight around on the nearby ceiling to make sure Alyx gets all of those barnacles, then move down the tunnel a ways and flashlight-target the next batch of barnacles.
7 of 8: After they're dead, proceed forward slowly, watching out for more zombines.
8 of 8: If Alyx needs any help, you can shoot or throw the nearby explosive barrels, or shotgun the zombines in the head.
