Soldier Combat Tips
1 of 6: If there's an explosive barrel left nearby, grab onto it and hurl it at the bottom of the stairs when the soldiers appear.
2 of 6: Then go grab the hopper and use it the same way.
3 of 6: This is easier if you move the hopper to a spot nearer the stairs before the soldiers blow the door open.
4 of 6: Then help Alyx finish off the rest with whatever weapon(s) you want to use. (They carry SMGs and shotguns.)
5 of 6: If you imported any hoppers and/or explosive barrels from the previous chapter section, you can set them up for use here, too.
6 of 6: Also, you could stand at the bottom of the stairs with the SMG ready, and quickly shoot the explosive barrel that's just past the door right after the door is blown up. That'll probably kill at least one soldier, and you can quickly retreat and use the above tactics to finish them off.
