Toxic Waste Area #2 Tips
1 of 18: Before you drop down into the start of this second area, you should arrange for a way to get back to the first area.
2 of 18: As you move forward into the toxic area, you'll see a poison zombie a ways ahead, to the right of a couple of huge slanting pipes.
3 of 18: If you set up a way to return to the SMG grenade crate, then unload your SMG grenades on this guy and go refill. Otherwise, shoot him in the head with the .357.
4 of 18: To move on, jump from the first bit of safe ground to the nearby one with the large metal beam sticking up out of it.
5 of 18: From there, jump to the large wooden spool that's floating in the toxic slime near the two huge pipes, and then jump to the pipes.
6 of 18: After raiding the supply crate that's up there, drop from the top part of the pipes onto the safe ground that's below them.
7 of 18: If you want to set up a way to get back to the start of this area, use the gravity gun to pull the wooden spool that's near the base of the pipes over to where it can act as a stepping stone between the ground you're on and the ground with the large metal beam in it.
8 of 18: To move on, jump to the nearby white car, and then to cluster of large rocks past it.
9 of 18: From there, jump to the nearby safe ground, but don't jump to the second white car yet.
10 of 18: It'll quickly sink, and it's too hard to jump from it to the next bit of safe ground, so use the gravity gun to pull the big wooden spool off the safe ground and into the toxic goo near the car.
11 of 18: Now jump to the car, then to the spool, and then to the ground.
12 of 18: That'll cause several zombies and a zombine to rise up, and Alyx probably won't shoot them fast enough, so use the gravity gun to kill them with the big wooden spool.
13 of 18: To get to the next bit of safe ground, you'll have to use the spool that's on it as well as the one you've already used. Get them into position, then jump across them.
14 of 18: More zombies will rise up when you reach the next safe ground, so use the wooden spools and the nearby explosives to blow them away.
15 of 18: Use one spool to get to the last bit of safe ground, and repeat the zombie-killing process.
16 of 18: You're now near your goal in this area. Look nearby to find a wall with a ladder on it.
17 of 18: To get over there, set up a wooden spool to help make the jump. (But before you go, look to the right to see a supply crate off in the distance that you can pull in.)
18 of 18: Climb up that ladder and the next one to leave the second toxic waste area behind.
