The Orange Box: Half-Life 2: Episode Two Hints

Section 2: Muscling Your Way to the Muscle Car (ep2_outland_06)

  • 1 of 27: Move along until you come to a half-open metal door with a Combine pulse rifle next to it.
  • 2 of 27: Crouch-walk under the metal door to find several dead bodies with health kits and armor batteries next to them.
  • 3 of 27: Wait until Alyx lowers a force field for you, then go through the doorway and up some stairs.
  • 4 of 27: When you come to a closed door with a chair propped under the handle, beware the poison zombie on its other side.
  • 5 of 27: Past the zombie's door, remove the boards from a hole so you can drop down it, then crouch-walk under another half-open metal door to reach a very cluttered room.
  • 6 of 27: After you go through the door past the lift shaft, wait and let Alyx snipe the zombie on the stairs with her now-working sniper rifle.
  • 7 of 27: At the bottom of the stairs, go through a door and drop down to a lower room with some supplies in it.
  • 8 of 27: Approach the doorway to the next room cautiously, since several barnacle tongues are hanging down right beyond it.
  • 9 of 27: Find the boarded-over doorway past the barnacle cluster, then look up and to the right to find a supply crate that you can pull in with the gravity gun.
  • 10 of 27: De-board the doorway, then carefully cross the area past it. It has barnacle tongues hanging down, plus only a few weak boards between you and a fatal fall.
  • 11 of 27: Around a corner ahead is a large path-blocking bonfire that you'll have to get past.
  • 12 of 27: After the zombies on the stairwell past the bonfire are all dead, you can go through the door the zombine was banging on to get some supplies before moving on down to the bottom of the stairwell.
  • 13 of 27: In the outdoor area past the stairwell, watch out for a fast zombie who's rooting around in the nearby blue garbage bin.
  • 14 of 27: Across the area from the garbage bin is a padlocked fence door.
  • 15 of 27: Remove the padlock with the crowbar or gravity gun, then go through it to reach the start of a large zombie battle.
  • 16 of 27: Grab the supply crate that's hiding between two large brown pipes in a big wall niche, then go through the zombine's doorway and up some stairs.
  • 17 of 27: Look around the area for supplies, including inside a large red storage container, then find the corner that has a ladder.
  • 18 of 27: Either remove or jump over the saw blade that's stuck in the wall nearby, then climb the ladder to get up onto the roof of a big building that's full of zombies.
  • 19 of 27: Go through the big doorway in the back right corner of the building and down a short hallway to reach a very large room full of junk.
  • 20 of 27: Follow the vent shaft to its other end, then knock out its grating and drop down.
  • 21 of 27: Raid the nearby supply crate, then look for a way to move down to ground level.
  • 22 of 27: When you get down there, you'll be at the start of the first of two large areas full of toxic waste and zombies.
  • 23 of 27: Near where you climb out of the second toxic waste area, there's an optional supply shed.
  • 24 of 27: Go up the slope near the shed to find a spot where you can go through a gap to get onto the bridge.
  • 25 of 27: As soon as you do, another portal storm will sweep by and damage the bridge even more.
  • 26 of 27: After you make it across, get out of the car and go find Alyx and the vort.
  • 27 of 27: Wait near the car until the vort opens the big gate, then get in and start driving down the dark tunnel to reach Chapter 4: Riding Shotgun.
