The Orange Box: Half-Life 2: Episode Two Hints

Section 1: Antlion Attack (ep2_outland_02)

  • 1 of 9: Past a couple of grub worms is a hole that you can drop down through. (If you brought any spare supplies with you, drop them through the hole first.)
  • 2 of 9: You'll land in a large "tunnel hub" area where the vortigaunt who helped Alyx earlier is continuing to keep her alive.
  • 3 of 9: After you grab the supplies, follow one guy over to tunnel 36's antlion sensors so he can show you how they work.
  • 4 of 9: Soon after he does, antlions will start attacking en masse. Thankfully, none of them are the poison-spitting worker variety.
  • 5 of 9: After the battle is over, resupply on ammo and grab up any leftover supplies, then approach the vortigaunts.
  • 6 of 9: One of them will need to get something to help Alyx, and you're to be his escort.
  • 7 of 9: Follow him as he enters tunnel 12.
  • 8 of 9: After he opens a door in the tunnel and goes through it, it'll be your turn to lead.
  • 9 of 9: Enter the nearby cave tunnel and move along until Section 2: Escort the Vort loads.
