Half-Life 2 Hints
What's the best way to take out the first sniper?
of 8: There's the old tried-and-true tactic of running up near his little sniper nest and throwing him a nest egg (grenade, that is).
of 8: You need to do that here, running from cover to cover to avoid sniper bullets.
of 8: TIP: When you're about to run from one bit of cover to another, always start running right after the sniper fires.
of 8: From the doorway that leads out of the building you start in, run straight across the street to the small alcove with two bricked-over doorways.
of 8: Walk carefully along the wall past that alcove, then sprint across the street to the small nook next to a telephone pole.
of 8: TIP: If you have any RPG rockets, you can stand at the small gap between the telephone pole and the building (or move a little further down along the wall) and fire a rocket at the sniper. You'll be safe from his shots in that spot, and you can use the zoom feature after firing a rocket to help you home it in on his window. Read on if you're not going to do this.
of 8: Get around the phone pole and hug the wall as you make your way forward to a corner next to a big yellow hanging sign that says "Nevrin 54."
of 8: There are two ways to proceed from here, with the easiest one listed first.
