Half-Life 2 Hints
Secret Area #2
1 of 9: The entrance to this area is very close to where the SMG-wielding cop rappelled down in front of you.
2 of 9: Look around to find an explosive barrel in front of a broken grating.
3 of 9: Pick up the barrel, drop it on the floor directly beneath the large circular opening in the ceiling, and hit it once with the crowbar. (You'll see why soon.)
4 of 9: Now crouch-walk through the broken grating that the barrel was covering.
5 of 9: Have the crowbar ready as you approach the wooden crate at the back of the little tunnel.
6 of 9: A hideous zombie torso (the top half of a regular zombie) will break through the crate when you get close and start crawling after you.
7 of 9: You can kill it easily by whacking it repeatedly with the crowbar while moving backward. (Or you can shoot it with your new SMG if you prefer.)
8 of 9: At the back end of the tunnel is an armor battery and your very first fragmentation grenade (frag grenade for short). Put it away for future use.
9 of 9: Turn around and leave the tunnel, ready to shoot the explosive barrel with the pistol or SMG -- another rappelling cop will drop down right next to it.
