Half-Life 2 Hints
This looks like a dead end. How can I proceed from here?
1 of 7: Examine the wall near where the big yellow pipe goes into it.
2 of 7: There's a cracky-looking vent covering near the floor.
3 of 7: Bash it with the crowbar to open it up, then crouch-walk into it.
4 of 7: If just crouch-walking into it doesn't work, try hitting the Jump key to hop in. Also, moving the grate debris out of the shaft first might help.
5 of 7: A short way back in the shaft is a drop-off that leads to another bashable grate covering.
6 of 7: Drop down onto that grate covering and bash it to drop into the next area -- a huge room full of manhacks and explosive barrels.
7 of 7: TIP: Get all the nearby supplies that you don't need right now and drop them down onto that grate covering before you drop down onto it and bash it. That way you'll have those supplies handy during your stay in the manhack-and-barrel area.
