Half-Life 2 Hints

Section 2: Crossing the Street (d1_town_01a)

  • 1 of 7: When you open the door just ahead of you, you'll see a fast headcrab running around near some explosive barrels.
  • 2 of 7: Up some stairs in the fast headcrab's room is a door that leads to a small room where a zombie gets shot through a window by Father Grigori, who's in a window across the street.
  • 3 of 7: Kill the zombie slumped in one corner of the room, then go out through either of the room's windows and kill off every zombie and headcrab in the street area without dropping down.
  • 4 of 7: When the area is clear of hostiles, drop down to the street below. (To do this safely, crouch-drop down to the highest part of the street.)
  • 5 of 7: There are two places at ground level with hidden supplies you can raid before you go looking for a way to enter another building.
  • 6 of 7: After you kill the zombie torso in the room past the window, go through a door to find a large room with some health kits and several zombie-killing implements laying around (including a big rusty saw blade and a couple of large meat hooks).
  • 7 of 7: Use those items with the gravity gun to kill all the zombies that come up the stairs after you, then go down the stairs and around until you reach Section 3: Two New Zombie Types and a Shotgun.
