Street Combat Tips

  • 1 of 12: Before you go through a window, look through the one on the right to see two poison headcrabs on a lower ledge directly across the street from you.
  • 2 of 12: Find the two small red gas canisters that are in your room and use the gravity gun to throw them through the window so that the poison headcrabs catch fire and die.
  • 3 of 12: Then go through either window to get onto the ledge that's just outside them.
  • 4 of 12: NOTE: To get through a window, first make sure all of its glass is broken out, then jump onto its frame and crouch-walk through it.
  • 5 of 12: As soon as you're through a window, turn left and move forward along the ledge. (There are several zombies on your ledge to the right of the windows, but Father Grigori will shoot them for you.)
  • 6 of 12: Move carefully to where the ledge turns left, then look down and shoot the explosive barrel you see on the ground in the back left corner.
  • 7 of 12: From that same spot, you should be able to turn to the right and see an explosive barrel in a small square grate-covered opening in the wall down at ground level.
  • 8 of 12: Shoot that barrel in order to torch the fast headcrabs that are hiding in the space just past it.
  • 9 of 12: Now go back along the ledge to its other end after Father Grigori clears the ledge of zombies for you.
  • 10 of 12: Look down to see several zombies, headcrabs, and explosive barrels arrayed around a car on the street below.
  • 11 of 12: Rapidly shoot all of the explosive barrels to get them to explode before any of the zombies or headcrabs can escape the explosions.
  • 12 of 12: After that, move back and forth along your ledge, scanning the ground carefully for survivors. If you see any, shoot them with the pistol.
