Section 1: Sentry Guns and Headcrabs (d2_prison_02)

  • 1 of 13: Go through the door marked "A3" after bashing the supply crates next to it.
  • 2 of 13: The open cells on the top floor are empty and uninteresting, so head down the stairs and look around.
  • 3 of 13: There seems to be nothing down there at first, but explore each open cell carefully.
  • 4 of 13: One of them has a big hole in the back wall that you can go through to get to the A5 area. (Watch out for the headcrab in the hole!)
  • 5 of 13: In A5, you'll start encountering a new type of enemy.
  • 6 of 13: The first sentry gun you find shooting antlions can be knocked over with a quick gravity gun blast through the bars.
  • 7 of 13: To get to the next two, find the nearby stairs and go up them until you can crawl over a badly bent bit of fencing.
  • 8 of 13: These two sentry guns are also on the other side of an unopenable barred door. Grav-blast whichever ones don't get knocked over by antlions before you get there.
  • 9 of 13: You can't get the sentry guns that are way off in the distance yet, so head on down the hallway to find an office with health and armor rechargers.
  • 10 of 13: After that, go up some stairs and knock over a couple more sentry guns (and check the nearby side rooms for a supply crate).
  • 11 of 13: Go through the flooded basement (watch out for barnacles) and up through a hole in the floor to get to a fast headcrab ambush area.
  • 12 of 13: In the next area, you need to figure out the best way to take out the two elevated sentry guns that will start shooting at you through the bars at the other end of the room.
  • 13 of 13: Head up the stairs in the sentry gun room to get to a secret supply area and then the doorway that leads to Section 2: Antlion Guard and Barred Gates.
