Return to the Vent Strategy
1 of 8: Set up a way to return to the vent shaft you recently dropped out of.
2 of 8: Make a 2-1 barrel staircase in front of the vent opening so that you can crouch-hop back inside from on the top barrel.
3 of 8: NOTE: If you find any spare grenades in the supplies in that room, you can use the gravity gun to toss them into the vent so you'll have some extras handy.
4 of 8: Go into the small room with the frag grenade crate to trigger the soldiers' appearance, then run for your barrel staircase and get up into the vent shaft.
5 of 8: From a ways back in the shaft, you can toss out frag grenades without exposing yourself to enemy fire.
6 of 8: Peek out of the vent to make sure they see you in there and rush into the room before you start throwing grenades. Also, try to get them clustered near the vent exit so you can get more than one at once.
7 of 8: If any go behind the fence in an attempt to get a good shot at you, back up to where you can just see their heads and shoot them with the .357 or pulse rifle.
8 of 8: When you run out of grenades, move forward and use the SMG or pulse rifle to finish off any survivors before dropping back down to the floor.
