Half-Life 2 Hints

Section 4: Wrecked Street and Cop Barricade (d3_c17_05)

  • 1 of 12: Just past a locked elevator, you can head right and go up some stairs to an optional area before heading out to the street.
  • 2 of 12: When you exit to the street, two fly-by scanners will drop hoppers that you'll want to convert to your side or toss away before they hurt anyone.
  • 3 of 12: You need to go up the street to the left, but you can't due to severe damage (probably inflicted by those thoughtless striders).
  • 4 of 12: As soon as you get past the big street mess, you'll find that your progress is blocked by a Combine barricade manned by a bunch of cops.
  • 5 of 12: After all the cops are down, use the stairs that lead up onto the barricade.
  • 6 of 12: Walk to its other end to find the control panel that opens it (not useful) plus a health station.
  • 7 of 12: TIP: If there are any cops remaining on the ground on the other side of the barricade, hide and let your squad deal with them.
  • 8 of 12: Keep going along the walkways and up the stairs until you enter a building with a whole bunch more cops in it.
  • 9 of 12: When you get to the bottom of the stairs past the last cop combat, you'll see two sentry guns across the room ahead of you.
  • 10 of 12: However, don't rush straight over to them -- there's a sneaky sentry gun in a dark alcove to the left that you need to deal with first.
  • 11 of 12: After knocking down all three sentry guns, drop down to the lower floor and back away while your team shoots the zombie torso that crawls out.
  • 12 of 12: The corridor leads to Section 5: Big Manhack Attack and Radioactive Tunnel, but you might want to first climb the stairs that go outside to get to some extra supplies.
