Half-Life 2 Hints

Soldier and Manhack Tips

  • 1 of 8: Move out onto the large transparent walkway, then quickly retreat back into the room you dropped down into.
  • 2 of 8: Hide in the corner that's halfway between the start of the walkway and the nearby force field.
  • 3 of 8: Watch for soldiers to come from both the force field and the walkway, though usually not both at once.
  • 4 of 8: There will also be a few manhacks flying around, so do the old suck-and-throw on them when they come near.
  • 5 of 8: As before, come out of your corner and look around briefly when the soldiers stop coming to see if there are some nearby who just need encouragement.
  • 6 of 8: ALTERNATIVE: Instead of that, you can use the "Returning to the Previous Hallway Strategy" that I list in the tips for after you summon the lift.
  • 7 of 8: When they finally stop coming, return to the transparent walkway and go all the way to its other side.
  • 8 of 8: Use orbs from the nearby energy conduit to kill a soldier or two who shoot down at you from on a higher floor.
