How can I get into the abandoned house?

  • 1 of 8: If you go up the stairs and try the door on the left, you'll find that it can't be opened.
  • 2 of 8: From the bottom of the stairs, look up at the abandoned house to find a window that you can click the magnifying glass on.
  • 3 of 8: When you do, Holmes will say that it appears to be the only way out. (He probably means "in.")
  • 4 of 8: Talk to Finley about everything to see if he has any ideas on how to get up to that window.
  • 5 of 8: When you ask about a ladder, Finley says that there's one in pieces under the stairs.
  • 6 of 8: Choose your finished ladder in inventory, then click on the abandoned house's window to place it.
  • 7 of 8: If you try to use the ladder, Holmes will say that he needs something to protect himself from the gas leak.
  • 8 of 8: With the wet rags in inventory, click on the ladder to climb into the abandoned house's gassy room.
