Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper Hints

What all do I need to discover at the murder scene?

  • 1 of 9: There are five different hotspots on and near the chalk outline that will give you the magnifying glass icon. (Press the SPACEBAR and look around if you want to see them all marked at once.)
  • 2 of 9: Click on any of the five hotspots to change your view, then use the SPACEBAR to help you locate them all from your new angle.
  • 3 of 9: When you point the magnifying glass cursor at each hotspot, it'll be outlined in red if you haven't investigated that hotspot yet, and it'll have a green center if you have.
  • 4 of 9: NOTE: The first time you finish investigating a hotspot, the deduction board will automatically come up. Just close it, since it won't be helpful until later on.
  • 5 of 9: All of the hotspot investigations are simple, and only require you to click on them once, except for the body's head.
  • 6 of 9: After investigating all five of those hotspots, exit the view you're in, then look around for two more hotspots in the street nearby.
  • 7 of 9: Look to the left from facing the chalk outline to see a hotspot on a streetlamp.
  • 8 of 9: After clicking on it, turn around to find another hotspot near a couple of "working girls" and their clients.
  • 9 of 9: After you get that one, Holmes will say that you've found all possible clues, and the reenactment phase will begin.
