Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper Hints

How can I get Leather Apron to surrender himself to the police?

  • 1 of 15: The old Isralite cobbler that Leather Apron works for is probably Isaac Solomonovitch, so you might want to try his cobbler's shop again.
  • 2 of 15: You'll find that it's still closed, so look around for other stuff to do while waiting for it to open.
  • 3 of 15: Start by returning to the boarding house and talking to Finley about the "police" topic if you haven't already.
  • 4 of 15: He mentions a mysterious new tenant and a smelly broken jar.
  • 5 of 15: Go up the nearby stairs slowly so you can find and take part of the broken jar, then ask Finley about the strange smell.
  • 6 of 15: That'll get you the name Dr. Tumblety, so ask around about him.
  • 7 of 15: Madam Bella is the one to ask, so fast-travel back to the brothel and go inside.
  • 8 of 15: Talk to Bella at the counter and ask about Tumblety. She'll require you to do her a favor before she tells you anything about him.
  • 9 of 15: You don't actually have to complete the favor to get the cobbler's shop open, but you do have to make a lot of progress on it.
  • 10 of 15: After Dr. Gibbons tells you what he wants in exchange for the stolen cane, leave the clinic and run back over to the cobbler's shop.
  • 11 of 15: Try the front door to find that it's now unlocked.
  • 12 of 15: Inside, figure out a way to get the attention of Mr. Solomonovitch, who's doing something in a side room.
  • 13 of 15: Ask about the harness, then keep choosing new dialogue topics until you get the Buck's Row topic.
  • 14 of 15: Using it will get Solomonovitch to promise to get Leather Apron to go to a trustworthy police sergeant.
  • 15 of 15: Fast-travel to the police station and talk to Constable Humphries to finish up, and to get the next murder to happen. (Note that this will only work if you've talked to Solomonovitch about adjustable harnesses. If not, go do so, then try Humphries again.)
