I've pulled the switch, but what good did that do me?

  • 1 of 22: Did you pay attention to the cut-scene?
  • 2 of 22: A chain lowered on the other side of this area when you pulled the switch.
  • 3 of 22: Why don't you go down and investigate it?
  • 4 of 22: When you get to the bottom of the chain, look around.
  • 5 of 22: There's a window in front of you.
  • 6 of 22: Use CIRCLE to swing and then jump through that window.
  • 7 of 22: Look at the ledges in this next room.
  • 8 of 22: There are a couple of boxes in the windows on those ledges.
  • 9 of 22: So why don't you climb up to the ledges and push the boxes out to see where the windows lead?
  • 10 of 22: Hmm ... looks like you're back in the same courtyard you were just in, with the hole in the ground to an underground passageway. 
  • 11 of 22: But maybe you can do something new with one of those boxes.
  • 12 of 22: Perhaps you could reach a different exit that wasn't available before.
  • 13 of 22: When you're back on Yorda's screen (the "Stone Pillar"), you should now be at a higher-up section, next to yet another ladder for you to climb.
  • 14 of 22: Take that ladder and continue along the path up here.
  • 15 of 22: There's a bit of a gap in the path, but don't let that stop you -- it's easy enough to get across.
  • 16 of 22: Jump into the chain when the path stops and swing across to the other side, where you'll find a switch.
  • 17 of 22: Pull that switch and a platform moves from one side of the area below to another.
  • 18 of 22: It moves from the area where Yorda is to the area where the idol doors are, and back again.
  • 19 of 22: If Yorda were on that platform, you both could leave this area.
  • 20 of 22: She'll know what to do if you tell her.
  • 21 of 22: While you're standing at the switch, call to her, and she'll walk on the platform.
  • 22 of 22: Then, pull the switch and join her back down below.  (The chain you swung across will also let you get down to her quickly and safely.)
