Icewind Dale II Hints
Help Oswald repair the airship.
of 17: Talk to Oswald about the airship damage after he revives to get this quest.
of 17: The book he refers to is on the table in the airship cabin (where you start out).
of 17: It lists all the items Oswald needs in order to fix things up again.
of 17: You need to find them all and put them on the table that you got the book from.
of 17: Two of the items you need are lying around in the airship.
of 17: The unidentified potion that's on the ground in the aft compartment is Thrym Extract, so have it identified and then put it on the table.
of 17: One of the two diamonds you need is in the little locked box that's near the Thrym Extract, so have your rogue open the box and get the diamond.
of 17: To find some wood, just look around outside the airship. There are several piles (all of them trapped) nearby. Fortunately, you just need one.
of 17: Head down the east path from the airship to find some frost spiders at an intersection. Kill them to find fresh spider silk on each one.
of 17: As for the piece of iron, you can get several pieces of otherwise-worthless broken iron equipment off of Captain Yurst after you help him out.
of 17: A belladonna plant and another diamond are to the NE, up in the Andoran section of the area. You'll have to get past the blockade to get to them.
of 17: Illium has the belladonna on him, and the diamond is in one of the many little hidden treasure pockets at the east end of the upper ledge. Use the ALT key to find them all.
of 17: NOTE: If you're able to talk Illium into letting you pass through Andora peacefully, you can get a belladonna plant from Zack Boosenburry in the Ice Wall area after you rescue him.
of 17: As for other diamonds, you can find one each in the following locations in the Ice Temple:
* a secret stash in the secret room east of the foyer/entrance on level 1 * the locked chest in the room behind the ice-blocked door on level 2
of 17: When all of those ingredients are put on the table, they'll disappear in a magical flash. Talk to Oswald after that happens to get your XP for the quest.
of 17: After you finish this chapter's main quest, return to the crash site to find a goodbye note and potion from Oswald. The potion will permanently add 1 to a character's slashing and piercing resistances.
of 17: NOTE: If you don't finish this quest before finishing the main quest, Oswald will get his ship repaired some other way, and you'll miss out on all the XP for helping him.
