Icewind Dale II Hints

Pass through the Fell Wood to the Cold Marshes.

  • 1 of 13: Your first stop on this quest is the village up in the NE corner of the Wandering Village area.
  • 2 of 13: Some hunters just outside the village will tell you to go see Suoma the Elder, and Nym will outline your basic travel strategy for this chapter and the next one.
  • 3 of 13: When you speak to Suoma, she'll say that she's the only one who can help you get through the Fell Wood to the Cold Marshes.
  • 4 of 13: However, you have to do her three big favors first.
  • 5 of 13: She says several children have gone missing and asks to talk to Venla about it.
  • 6 of 13: After that, she wants you to help Tahvo the Huntmaster get rid of a troublesome wight.
  • 7 of 13: Then she wants you to find and put to rest the ghost of a missing village hunter.
  • 8 of 13: When you report back to Suoma after finishing her third quest, she'll tell you of the dark treants in the woods.
  • 9 of 13: Isair and Madae, the two ultimate villains for the game, will then interrupt and cause some trouble.
  • 10 of 13: After you kill off the possessed corpses they transform the local hunters into, it'll be over, and you're ready to return to the Fell Wood and travel to the Cold Marshes.
  • 11 of 13: When you enter the woods, you'll see a dark treant head off to the SE.
  • 12 of 13: Follow it and kill all of the dark treants you find there. Fire and magic damage work well against these creatures.
  • 13 of 13: Once they're all dead, you'll be able to go through the NE exit to get to the Cold Marshes.
