Icewind Dale II Hints
Get the Iron Collar Band to do their duty for once.
1 of 6: This is Shawford Crale's last errand quest, and you get it after reporting success on the previous one.
2 of 6: The Iron Collar Band is the set of drunken mercenaries who've been camped out in the Salty Dog Tavern in the Docks area since the game started.
3 of 6: So go to the tavern and sober them up the hard way!
4 of 6: You can insult them until they attack, thereby getting the XP for killing them as well as all their gear.
5 of 6: Or, if you did a certain optional quest earlier, you'll know that an old associate of theirs is a traitor, and can use that fact to blackmail them into reporting to duty. That way you'll have their help in the final goblin battles.
6 of 6: Either way, you've completed the mission, but don't report success to Shawford Crale until you're all ready for the final series of goblin battles in the Palisade. You'll want to be fully rested with useful spells memorized (Sleep, Color Spray, and Entangle are particularly recommended), and you'll want to spend your last gold coin if necessary to stock up on equipment and supplies (including flaming oil bottles to hurl at large goblin groups).
